Amazonite is a tectosilicate mineral, a microcline feldspar. It is green to greenish-blue. It has that telltale schiller that appears in other feldspars like Black Moonstone and Peach Moonstone. It grows alongside cleavelandite and smokey quartz, and you’ll sometimes find those specimens have grown together. You might find instances of smokey quartz in with the amazonite (hence the brown spots you’ll sometimes see).

COLOR – Amazonite is a blue-green color, often with veins of white throughout and sometimes patches of brown. Higher grade amazonite will have a deep saturation and bright color.
