Amazonite crystals are stunning stones known for their mesmerizing play of blue and green hues. They present a unique effect, called schiller, that creates a captivating shimmer or “twinkle” within the crystal. A member of the feldspar family, amazonite boasts a commendable degree of durability, rating 6-6.5 on the Mohs scale of hardness. When polished, amazonite takes on a glassy luster, and most stones are opaque, meaning they don’t allow light to pass through.
