Cleansing & Care Instructions

Sodalite is a manageable stone to care for once you understand two things: water and sunlight both require caution, and its hardness makes it vulnerable to scratching by quartz-family stones. Get those two right and sodalite will hold its color and surface for years without much attention.

  • Cleansing: Moonlight is the default for sodalite. Set it on a windowsill or outdoors on the night of a full moon and leave it until morning. Sound cleansing with a singing bowl or tuning fork works equally well and requires no waiting. Smoke cleansing with sage, palo santo, or cedar handles energetic clearing without any risk to the stone. Selenite charging plates are reliable and require no attention at all. Water is not recommended as a primary cleansing method for this stone.
  • Charging: Moonlight serves double duty. A full moon charge paired with a cleanse is the most efficient routine for sodalite.
